Medical Doctor – Mary Begg Health Services

Location: Kalumbila, Zambia

Mary Begg Health Services is seeking a Medical Doctor to deliver high-quality medical care and excellent customer service at its health facility in Kalumbila. Doctors rotate between outpatient, emergency, inpatient, and occupational health services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive healthcare for patients and their families.

Role Description

• Deliver medical care ethically and consistently, aligned with international standards and evidence-based practices.
• Rotate across outpatient, emergency, inpatient, and occupational health services.
• Collaborate with other clinicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent.
• Registered and licensed with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
• ACLS and ITLS training is an advantage (not mandatory).

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain hospital/clinic facilities, medical equipment, and patient services to professional standards.
• Comply with MBHS protocols and local regulations.
• Attend clinic/medical meetings and ensure proper handover procedures.
• Be available for rostered shifts, on-call duties, weekends, and emergencies.
• Assist with medical evacuations and referrals, including documentation and patient monitoring.
• Foster a culture of customer service satisfaction among staff and patients.
• Ensure accurate patient documentation, billing, and reporting.
• Report faulty medical equipment and assist in developing medical programs for MBHS clients.

Customer Care Focus

• Listen to patient concerns and provide respectful, supportive care.
• Promote a culture of professionalism and service excellence.
• Ensure after-hours consultations are handled appropriately.
